KAPP Skaginn Delivers IQF Tunnel Freezer to Scotia Harvest in Canada

A new IQF Freezer for Scotia Harvest is on its way to Canada. Upon arrival in Digby, Nova Scotia, the KAPP Skaginn IQF Tunnel Freezer will be installed at Scotia Harvest’s new 43,580-square-foot groundfish processing facility. Intended for haddock and redfish, the freezer will serve a plant that is set to process around 27,000 kilograms of fresh fish per shift. Equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, a new production line will allow the company to better control throughput, yield and quality throughout processing.

Faster IQF freezing with maximum yield

The IQF Tunnel Freezer delivers premium product at less cost. Products maintain their appearance throughout the process. Our freezers increase yield, quality and throughput as drip loss is kept at a minimum and product dehydration is prevented.

Starting as a family business, this progressive company has been involved in the fishing industry for generations. Their focus is to ensure that the resources that Canadians have always relied upon remain healthy for future generations.

Robust and reliable freezers

Our freezers have proven to be extremely reliable over the years and our innovative technology delivers outstanding product quality. Designed with hygiene, easy cleaning and good ergonomics in mind, the IQF Tunnel Freezer can run throughout the week without complete defrosting.

KAPP to Exhibit at Seafood Processing Global 2026 in Barcelona

KAPP will exhibit at Seafood Processing Global 2026, taking place 21–23 April 2026 at Fira Barcelona Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain. Seafood Processing Global is held alongside Seafood Expo Global, and the 2026 edition has been announced as the largest in the event’s history.

At the event, KAPP will present its broad portfolio of chilling, freezing, and processing solutions for the seafood industry. KAPP’s positioning centers on “Chilling, Freezing and Processing” and on helping customers maximize product quality, increase yield, and improve overall efficiency through advanced refrigeration and food processing solutions.

Visitors to the KAPP booth will learn more about a range of technologies for onboard and onshore seafood operations, as well as for aquaculture applications. These include OptimICE® liquid slurry ice systems, IQF Tunnel Freezers, Non-Pressure Plate Freezers, RoteX solutions, tub handling systems, ValuePump®, and other food processing technologies in the KAPP portfolio.

OptimICE® is designed to rapidly cool fish and maintain a stable, low temperature throughout the cold chain, helping preserve freshness and quality. KAPP’s freezing and processing portfolio also includes systems developed to improve yield, support gentle product handling, and enhance operational efficiency across seafood processing environments.

Seafood Processing Global brings together equipment, packaging, and service suppliers from across the international seafood sector, while the broader event attracts seafood professionals from around the world. For KAPP, the show is an important opportunity to meet customers, partners, and industry professionals in one place and discuss practical solutions for today’s processing challenges.

We look forward to meeting visitors at Booth 3BB401-E in Barcelona and discussing how KAPP can support stronger product quality, better yield, and more efficient operations across the cold chain.
